Like most of you, I take time at the end of the year to review the year. This includes a time of reminding myself why I blog. Blogging is a lot of work, but I love seeing leaders live with greater purpose, productivity, and peace. The transformation in someone’s life as they beat busyness and overcome being overwhelmed makes my efforts worthwhile.
My end-of-the-year review also includes identifying my most popular blog posts.
These 5 posts are the most read in 2017.
You will have big decisions to make that require discerning God’s will with laser focus. Before you discern His will, though, you need to practice “holy ambivalence” — accepting His will, even if you don’t know it. This post is part of a series on discerning God’s will that began with another post, The One Thing You Must Do to Know God’s Will.
In October, I revealed that I was changing the focus of my blog. Through the yearly survey, I realized that the tagline With God Leadership wasn’t resonating with readers. It was too confusing and created a barrier to engagement. I also realized that my readers’ desired areas of growth can be narrowed down to three leadership characteristics: purpose, productivity, and peace. This revealed the reasons for the change and my own journey toward adopting “purpose, productivity, and peace” as my new tagline and focus.
I love productivity tools, and it appears that many readers do as well! Todoist became my favorite project and task management tool this year. Here are the most beneficial features — and some of the improvements that I wish Todoist would make.

Kindness occurs when you lovingly say or do what someone needs in order to help them grow. But you need to understand the difference and know how to be kind — but not nice — in different situations.
Some days leadership is exciting and fun. But other days leadership can be terrible. When I first started learning about leadership, I wish someone had warned me about these seven leadership challenges. Knowing these can spare you a great deal of pain!
As 2017 comes to a close, I hope that 2018 invites you to live with greater purpose, productivity, and peace. Thanks for letting me join you in your journey!
